The palmyre zoo

Discover the zoo of la Palmyre

Located near the Deux Plages campsite, La Palmyre Zoo is one of the most renowned zoos in Europe.

More than 1600 animals representing all continents are offered to the amazed eyes of visitors... Asian elephants, polar bears, Bornean orangutans, Madagascar lemurs and Caribbean flamingos rub shoulders with Nepal's little pandas and African zebras... And many more!

Spend a day at the Palmyre zoo, only 10 minutes drive from the campsite!
Along its shaded paths that wind through 18 hectares of pine forest, 1600 animals of 115 different species are to be discovered in a magnificent environment adapted to the biology of each of them.

Each year, the park records 200 to 300 births. A success that can be explained in particular by the rigorous monitoring of reproduction within the groups and the care given to the animals' diet and well-being.

Saving species

La Palmyre Zoo also plays an important role in the saving endangered species, participating in 40 European Breeding Programs (EEP), 16 European Studbooks (ESB) and funding several in situ species conservation programs (orangutans in Borneo, hornbills in Thailand, gorillas in Gabon, turquoise-eyed lemurs in Madagascar, Cape penguins in South Africa, pinnipeds in Colombia...).

Easy access from the bike path at the bottom of the camping Saint-Palais-sur-Mer for you no traffic jams n'y parking problems.
